Built : 1955-56 by Metropolitan Vickers at Dukinfield Works, Manchester. Rebuilt 1968-71 by CIE at Inchicore Works, Dublin. 
Engine 1955-56 : Crossley HST V8 1200h.p. (896kw) 
Engine 1968 : General Motors 12-cylinder 645E  twin bank blower-scavenged developing 990 kW (1325 h.p.) at 800rpm with 930h.p. 1250 h.p. available for traction .
Transmission : Electric. 6 axle hung nose suspended Metropolitan Vickers MV137CW traction motors.
Max. Tractive Effort : 205 kN (46000 ibf).
Cont. Tractive Effort : 80 kN (18000 ibf) at 21.5 m.p.h.
Power at Rail : 750 kW (1013 h.p.).
Weight : 82 tons
Length Over Buffers : 15.54 m (51 feet 0 )
